PADI Underwater Digital Photography Success!
By Alex Varnals onSaturday, January 27, 2007 9:43 AM
Congratulations to Nick Mckenna who completed his PADI Digital Underwater Photography course at Capernwray. The water was a chilly 6 degrees, however, with two forty minute dives produced a number of great shots. Hopefully we will be updating the website, mainly the gallery section, so that we can upload lots of your photo's onto the site.

New Pool Schedule
By Alex Varnals onFriday, January 26, 2007 9:42 AM
With the aim of trying to offer as much pool time access as possible to our local divers, we are happy to announce the new pool schedule for 2007, the times are as follows:

Wednesday 6pm - 9pm
Tong Recreation Centre, Bradford

This pool is 3.1m (10ft) deep with a shallow end, which is ideal for developing your skills in shallow water then moving to the deep end as your confidence builds.

Friday 8pm - 9.45pm
Leeds International Pool, Diving Pit

The Diving Pit is 5m (16ft) deep and the perfect location to practice your ascent and descent skills, but don’t worry if this is a bit daunting at first, we have a separate training pool along side the Diving Pit as well on a Friday’s, where you can master your skills before taking on THE PIT.

Congrautlations to Yana, Martin and Sharon who completed their PADI Night Diver Specialty today in Dahab, Egypt. With their last dive being on Lighthouse Reef seeing lionfish, spanish dancers, guilded pipefish and loads of other stuff. Well done.

Dahab, Egypt
By Alex Varnals onSaturday, November 11, 2006 9:35 AM
Dahab, Egypt holiday 25th Nov - 2nd Dec 2006 was a complete success. We stayed at the Coral Coast Hotel, right on the beach in Dahab. Fantasea hosted our recreational divers with dives at the Islands, the Eel Gardens and the Canyon, our divers were fortunate enough to have the warmth of 24 degree waters for the week.

Our technical divers had the pleasure of Tom from Fantasea TEC, to guide them on several fantastic dives including the famous Blue Hole Archway, a 60m overhead environment dive, that is not for the faint hearted.

Diving Leisure Invasion
By Alex Varnals onSunday, October 08, 2006 8:31 AM
Eight Acre Lake was the scene of an invasion this weekend. A Diving Leisure invasion. With 18 divers at the dive site we seemed to take over. I was particularly impressed with Allison's dedication to her recently learned skills from her AOW course as she turned up at the dive site with her two lengths of rope for knot tying practice..

Alex and Luke were busy helping Richard and Ross complete their PADI Junior Rescue Diver course. Iain, Mike and Dave worked well as a team both in the pool and open water helping Cameron and Graeme through their PADI Open Water training. Charlotte completed the first half of her training and will be joining us in a couple of weeks to finish her Junior PADI Open Water diver course.

Nick, Allison, Sharon and Shannon were superbly guided by our new navigation guru Nicole who seems to have taken to the role of guide to the dive site.

Advanced Open Water Success!
By Alex Varnals onSaturday, September 23, 2006 8:26 AM
Bowline, round turn and two half hitches and a day playing with a compass. Thanks to Nick and Chris, we now have two newly qualified Advanced Open Water divers, Allison and Sadie.

Cathy has also created a navigating guru in Nicole, who now after several weekends with the Diving Leisure gang has become a hardened UK diver, I warned you Nicole it was only a matter of time.
