Challenging, Exciting, Fun.
“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver course. Building upon what you’ve already learned, this course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur. The fun part about this course is rising to challenges and mastering them. Most divers find this course both demanding and rewarding, and at the end, say it’s the best course they’ve ever taken.
What do I need to start? - PADI Advanced Open Water (or qualifying certification from another organisation)
- Be trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous two years
- Be of 15 years of age or above (12 - 14 years of age for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)
What will I do?
You'll learn to respond to dive situations and emergencies - but more importantly, you'll learn to identify potential problems and emergencies before they become serious, and you'll learn to deal with them safely and effectively. The diving improvement you'll notice comes from the fact that your own diving becomes almost second-nature, as you focus instead on other people and on the nuances that let you predict what's about to happen. Skills you will learn are as follows:
- Self-rescue
- Recognising and managing stress in other divers
- Emergency management and equipment
- Rescuing panicked divers
- Rescuing unresponsive divers
The course is broken down into two main areas knowledge development and skill development. To aid in water development we use pool sessions to develop your new skills before going to open water. The pool sessions are run on Friday evenings at the brand new John Charles Centre for Sports (South Leeds Stadium) which has a 5.5m deep pool. Please arrive at the pool on time a these are valuable additions to the rescue training, being late reduces the in-water time. The open water training is completed over a weekend at a convenient location dependant on students and instructors.
What's included in the course fee?
-
PADI Rescue Diver Crewpack (inc. Pocket Mask, Manuals)
- Certification Fees
- Equipment Hire
- Air Fills
- Training
Please note, transportation and dive site entry (where applicable) are not included
What's next?
When you have been certified as a PADI Rescue Diver, certified in five specialty areas and have 50 logged dives, then why not apply for the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating, which is PADI's highest recreational diving certification! | | |
