What is a Tec Tune-up and who is it for..?

After having lot's of requests from Technical Divers - we and our DSAT Instructional team have put together a Tec Tune Up Program for both the Tec Diver and Tec Instructors which runs very similar to the PADI Scuba Review Program that is used to keep Recreational Divers skills fresh and get them ready before there diving holiday. The Tec Tune Up is for anyone who has started on the DSAT path Tec Level One, Tec Deep Diver and Tec Trimix Diver. 

What will we do?

We run the session in a 6m pool where you just turn up and go over the main Technical Diving drills very similar to the Scuba Review Program. A more in depth session is also available including a session in the classroom refreshing your dive theory and watching the DSAT Technical Diving Skills DVD.  We can conduct this at your local dive site or our 6m pool if it's better for you.  Click the email link below and we can develop a program for you.

What is a Peer Review?

It's mainly used for Instructors wanting to become DSAT Tec Deep Instructors. During your DSAT Tec Deep Instructor Course one part you will need will be the Peer Review Waterskills section signing off on your application thats where I come in see below for the 7 areas of the assessment - we can also administer the Tec Deep and Tec Trimix Instructor Exams please get in touch see link at bottom of this section. (IMPORTANT NOTE: The Peer Review and DSAT Instructor Exams can be very expensive if done with PADI at an IE and PADI/DSAT will recommend that you do these with a DSAT Technical Diving Instructor Trainer near you)

What Skills will we do?

Deploys and decompresses with lift bag and reel; maintains stop depth with little or no depth variation while neutrally buoyant.

1. Deploys and decompresses with lift bag and reel; maintains stop depth with little or no depth variation while neutrally buoyant.
2. Performs gas switch while remaining neutrally buoyant and maintains stop depth.
3. Performs neutrally buoyant gas shutdown drill without significantly varying stop depth.
4. Maintains buoyancy control while staging and retrieving/donning stage/deco bottles.
5. Performs gas sharing with long hose both as a donor and a receiver.
6. Performs gas shutdown drill on bottom within 45 seconds.
7. Dives in standardized technical rig as defined in DSAT Tec Deep Diver materials.
